Havant Sixth Form College

Sports academies

Whether you’re playing for fun and fitness, or aiming to compete at the highest level, Havant Sixth Form College has all the sports facilities and opportunities you could wish for.

Fantastic Facilities

On campus, we have an international standard floodlit hockey pitch, two grass football pitches and additional training grounds, plus a large sports hall with four badminton courts. We also use Havant Park for cricket and play rugby at Havant Rugby Club.

Football

We have three teams playing in the country’s largest and longest-established College league. In 2011, our 3rd team won the Hampshire Cup. All three teams train together weekly with our expert coaches. We also have a women’s football team, who play five-a-side in the Hampshire Colleges League; they won the British Colleges South of England Plate in 2011.

Hockey

We have a strong record in hockey. Two of our students are currently playing in the Great Britain Under 18s men’s team. Our own men’s team were runners-up in the National Tertiary Cup in 2011, while the mixed team made the National Finals.

Rugby

In 2011, our rugby team won the Hampshire Colleges Sevens Plate.

Basketball

Our men’s and women’s teams play in the Hampshire League.

Netball

Netball is one of our fastest-growing sports, we now have two teams playing in the Hampshire League and local tournaments.

Badminton

We have just been awarded Badminton England Premier College status.

British Colleges Sport

In the National Finals, held at Bath University in 2011, Havant Sixth Form College students achieved wins or places in cross-country, swimming, tennis, trampolining and golf, helping the south east region win the Wilkinson Sword Trophy for a fourth consecutive year.
