A Levels: 3D Design
Why study 3D Design?
If you are inspired by the designs you see around you every day then this is the perfect course for you. You can progress onto a Foundation Diploma course or a degree in a range of art-based subjects and there are many career opportunities in 3D design, such as interior design, furniture design, architecture, product design and set or stage design for TV, film and theatre.
What will I study?
This exciting course will allow you to develop a creative portfolio and give you a specialist understanding of how to respond to a set brief. You’ll explore the use of 3D design in jewellery, ceramics, product design, set design, architecture and site-specific sculpture. As well as gaining skills in drawing and the use of colour, you’ll learn basic workshop skills, experience casting and mould-making and have the opportunity to use a wide variety of materials, from clay and paper to plastics and metal.
How will I be assessed?
Coursework (60%) and end of year exam projects (40%).
What Havant adds to this
We organise regular study trips to galleries and you will be involved in workshops, exhibitions and various design briefs.
