Celebrating a Successful Joint Venture Between the Winchester Royal Hotel and Havant College

A group of overseas staff from Poland and Romania working in The Winchester Royal Hotel have been presented with certificates from the examination board Cambridge ESOL and from Havant College.

The staff have improved their English language skills thanks to a course in the workplace during spring and summer 2008. Their achievements were celebrated at a presentation on Tuesday 16th December in one of the beautiful meeting rooms at the St Peter Street hotel, Winchester.

General Manager Jonathon Gettings presented his staff with the certificates and praised them for their commitment to the course. This was a joint venture between The Winchester Royal Hotel and Havant College, which runs an extensive business training operation with bespoke training in the workplace in partnership with Spring Training.

Agneta Powdrill, the group's teacher from Havant College, was very proud of the staff. "It was wonderful to meet them all again today and to see them receiving their well deserved certificates. They did so well during the course and managed to attend the classes while they had to juggle this with their shifts at the busy hotel."
