BBC Correspondent Shares Hard Hitting Journalism with English and Media Students

A Level English and Media students recently had the fantastic opportunity to listen to former student Alison Holt, BBC Social Affairs Correspondent for the BBC and award-winning journalist talk about her career.

Alison shared with students her experiences on reporting for the main national news bulletins and the BBC’s flagship current affairs programme, Panorama. In 2015, she was named Royal Television Society (RTS) Specialist Journalist of the Year, as well as winning the inaugural Orwell Prize for Exposing Britain’s Social Evils.

Alison’s talk was the first of many to take place as part of the College’s Academic Enrichment Programme. The programme is full of visiting speakers attending from universities, key employers, former students, as well as students having the opportunity to attend taster lectures and other events such as Student Finance and Study Skills.
