Award in Using ICT (Entry 3)

These courses are aimed at students who are new to using computers and IT software and for wish to progress and achieve a recognised qualification in IT. Students will be taught a variety of IT skills and the course will simulate the workplace. This qualification supports and confirms your workplace skills, knowledge and performance and does not involve sitting an examination.

At Havant College an experienced and qualified practitioner will guide and support you through the complete programme as both your individual tutor and assessor.

Who is it for?

Award in using ICT - a course focused on those who are new to using IT and wish to develop the basic skills and knowldge to enable them to progress onto the Level 1 course. 

Level 1 - This course covers the basics of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. An ideal course to attend before this would be Getting Started in IT, if you feel you need to familiarise yourself with using a computer first.

Level 2 - Ideally achievement of ITQ Level 1 or experience in using Microsoft applications.


How will I be assessed?

You will build a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate your knowledge and experience.

How much does it cost?

The ITQ1 and ITQ2 courses may be free (full fee remission) if you are in receipt of: 

JSA Job Seekers Allowance or 

ESA Employment Supplement Allowance (income based) or

You may be entitled to Level 3 fee remission if you do not already have a full Level 3 qualification (equivalent to 5 GCSE’s A-C or NVQ2) and are aged between 19 and 23 years as at 1st September 2013.

24plus Learning Loan
